Matinee 2.0 released

matineeI’m happy to report Matinee 2.0 has been released, and I was able try out a copy this afternoon. The biggest changes since 1.4 are the addition of up to 5 drives (networked/local or a combination there of) to serve DVD’s from and a smoother next/previous interface (no more backtracking to the start when you reach the end of your files. You know if Abraham over at Sintax software isn’t careful, Matinee may blossom into a full fledged media launcher, who knows DVD jacket art might even be in the works.

As a side note, it’s a strange coincidence that the flick Abraham had selected when he took the screen shot for Matinee was ‘Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas’, as we lost Hunter S. Thompson today. Say what you want about the man, lunatic or self indulgent freak, it’s unlikely anyone would call his creativity behind a typewriter into question.

I am happy to report that the next feature scheduled is DVD cover art. You didn’t think that big Matinee Logo was on the UI just to take up space, did you? I call it “a place holder”.

Thanks for doing the nice blog entry on 2.0. I think you guys are my only fans!
