MicroNet miniMate

It’s kind of funny actually, mock-up’s more or less like MicroNet’s miniMate were floated around Mac forums almost immediately after the mini was announced, so I guess it shouldn’t come as a big surprise or anything, but the execution of the idea couldn’t have been much better.
The MicroNet miniMate is a 7200rpm FireWire + USB 2.0 Hard Drive & Integrated FireWire and USB Hub, which comes in 80GB, 160GB, 250GB and 400GB configurations. I think its safe to say they’ll sell a few a few of these. I’m already envisioning my 4×250 terabyte array. And to think I spent nearly $200 on a 250GB hard-drive just a few weeks ago.
Pricing for the miniMate breaks down as follows:
MM80 80GB 7200rpm FireWire + USB 2.0 Hard Drive & Integrated FireWire and USB Hub $149.00
MM160 160GB 7200rpm FireWire + USB 2.0 Hard Drive & Integrated FireWire and USB Hub $179.00
MM250 250GB 7200rpm FireWire + USB 2.0 Hard Drive & Integrated FireWire and USB Hub $249.00
MM400 400GB 7200rpm FireWire + USB 2.0 Hard Drive & Integrated FireWire and USB Hub $499.00
Apparently a few retailers already have them in stock, and ready to go.

I have to say I really like this product. I’ve been looking for a large storage solution and while 400GB is not really what I want (need more) it makes a great option given the port expansion as well.
