Spotlight is an intensely capable search index that goes well beyond file name and type. You'll be able to search through the full meta data throughout your system... as a result, you'll be able to create smart folders ala smart playlists in iTunes. Among other tricks... Konfabulator vs Dashboard is a closer call...but I think the system resources on Dashboard are lower.
